For our client in the brewing industry, we developed a comprehensive e-commerce store using a headless architecture, integrating Shopify as the sales backend with a custom frontend built in Next.js (App Router). The project was fully designed and implemented by our team — from UX/UI design to frontend and backend business logic.
- Frontend in Next.js – We built a lightweight, fast, and fully responsive interface using the latest App Router and server components. This enables precise data loading control and performance optimization.
- Custom product configuration system – Users can select a box (6 or 12 beers) and then compose their own set. We developed a custom state management mechanism using Context API and reducers, allowing real-time product addition, removal, and validation.
- Shopify Storefront API integration – The store is fully integrated with Shopify via the GraphQL Storefront API, allowing full control over the purchasing process and interface design. Checkout is handled within our application, significantly improving the UX.
- Review system powered by Supabase – Instead of using third-party plugins, we built a custom review system based on Supabase (PostgreSQL + Auth + RLS). Reviews are saved via Next.js API Routes and can be extended with moderation and realtime functionalities.
- Performance and optimization – The entire solution is deployed on Vercel, using edge functions and Incremental Static Regeneration strategies. As a result, we achieved ultra-fast loading times (TTFB < 100 ms) and high availability.
The outcome of this collaboration is a modern, efficient, and fully scalable online store, tailored to the needs of the brand and its customers. The project was designed with future growth, easy expansion, and integration with additional services in mind.
